A 62-year-old man died Monday, Oct. 12, after a fire destroyed a mobile home in Midwest City.

Midwest City Fire Department crews responded around 9 a.m. to the 9700 block of N.E. 19th St., where witnesses had told dispatchers the home was engulfed in flames with someone possibly trapped inside, KOKH FOX 25 reported.

Firefighters arrived within minutes and began searching the structure. They found the man near the back of the mobile home.

Crews pulled him from the building and brought him to paramedics, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to KFOR.

The fire destroyed the mobile home, leaving it a total loss. His family identified him as Donnie McBurnett Jr., according to KFOR.

According to KFOR, the department expressed condolences to the victim's family, friends and neighbors.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
