Midwest City police are investigating an allegation that a freshman at Carl Albert High School was possibly physically and sexually assaulted in September.
The Midwest City Police Department confirmed the investigation Thursday, Oct. 1, as first reported by KOKH Fox 25. The department said the alleged incident was reported to the school resource officer and a report was filed immediately. A detective has since been assigned to the case.
The department said its detective has spoken with the victim's mother multiple times and has contacted others directly or indirectly involved. The agency said it will continue to interview witnesses and is coordinating with the Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office.
A Mid-Del Public Schools spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment. The Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office has not issued a public statement on the case.
Anyone with information can contact the Midwest City Police Department.
