An Edmond man appeared in Oklahoma County District Court on Tuesday, Oct. 6, for a preliminary hearing on child exploitation charges.

Noah Ashford, 26, is accused of posing as a juvenile online and soliciting explicit images and videos from minors. He has pleaded not guilty.

Edmond police said Ashford used Roblox, Instagram, TikTok and Grindr to contact juveniles and solicit explicit content, KOKH reported. He allegedly created multiple profiles to communicate with victims in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Indiana, Ohio and Massachusetts.

Ashford faces seven charges: three counts of making lewd or indecent proposals to a child under 16, possession of obscene material involving a minor under 18, lewd or indecent acts with a child under 16, use of technology to engage in communication for sexual interest with a minor and use of a computer for the purpose of violating Oklahoma statutes.

The investigation began in Louisiana. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said a parent called to report messages her son had received. Authorities traced the suspect to Edmond.

Edmond Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) detectives arrested Ashford on April 23 with help from the Western District of Oklahoma U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force, according to KOKH's earlier report. Police said he was taken into custody after leaving his mother's house, which also served as an in-home daycare.

His bond was set at $350,000, according to Edmond police. If released, Ashford would be subject to GPS monitoring and full house arrest.

Police said in April that investigators had identified three victims and were seeking others, but they said there are more.

"There are other victims, and we're still working to see if there are possibly even more … unfortunately, this is going on right under parents, right under their roofs," Edmond Police Department spokeswoman Emily Ward said in April when the charges were announced.

Wednesday's hearing marked at least the fourth court appearance in the case. The outcome of Tuesday's hearing was not immediately available.

Edmond police urged anyone who believes they may have been victimized to call Detective Sgt. Jason Kushmaul at 405-359-4639.
