Six Tecumseh Public Schools employees are now on administrative leave after the district's school board voted unanimously to sideline its top two administrators.
The Tecumseh Board of Education placed Superintendent Robert Kinsey and Assistant Superintendent Brandi Burks on leave during a special meeting Tuesday, Oct. 27, according to FOX 25. The meeting lasted about an hour, including roughly 45 minutes in executive session.
The action is tied to an expanding criminal investigation into Tecumseh High School head football coach Randon Lowe, who previously served as offensive coordinator at Midwest City. Lowe was placed on administrative leave in September. He has coached at Tecumseh for two years.
"Administrative leave is not disciplinary and is not a conclusion about anyone," board President Iva Bingham said, according to KOCO 5. "It allows the investigation to be carried out with fidelity …"
Bingham said the board will search for an interim administrator during the transition. Until that role is filled, leadership questions will go through Bingham directly, and payroll and invoices will process on their normal schedule, she said.
How the investigation grew
Tecumseh police opened a criminal investigation into Lowe in late September after female students brought allegations of inappropriate behavior, KOCO 5 reported at the time. Tecumseh Police Chief J.R. Kidney said the initial allegations came from about four students, with accusations dating to 2025 and additional ones surfacing in 2026.
As investigators interviewed students, the number of alleged victims grew, according to News 9. Police learned that allegations had also been reported to school administrators in January 2026, Kidney told News 9.
Kidney said police were initially told the earlier matter had been handled and that school officials had found no wrongdoing. After further interviews, Kidney said investigators believe the situation may not have been handled properly.
The Tecumseh Police Department and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) are now conducting a joint investigation, according to the district. The OSBI joined to help manage the growing number of interviews, Kidney said.
Three administrators placed on leave Oct. 14
Two weeks before the board's Oct. 27 vote, the district placed Tecumseh High School Principal Jaime Griggs, Athletic Director Casi Bays and counselor Erin Meyers on leave. Kidney said their involvement relates to how the allegations were handled, including mandatory reporting obligations.
Assistant principals Rodney Buss and Tarek Aissaoui are sharing leadership duties at the high school. Justin Wood is serving as acting athletic director, and Britney Honsinger is supporting counseling services, according to KOCO 5's Oct. 14 report.
No charges filed
As of Oct. 27, police had not arrested Lowe, and no charges had been announced against any of the six employees. Kidney has said details will be limited while the investigation is active, particularly because investigators are interviewing juveniles.
FOX 25 reported that the board declined to comment after the Oct. 27 meeting when asked for more details about the investigation.
Anyone who believes they were a victim of inappropriate behavior by Lowe or another school employee can contact the Tecumseh Police Department and ask to speak with Detective Snow, according to Kidney.
