Someone knocked on an apartment door in south Oklahoma City on Saturday, Sept. 19, and fatally shot the man who answered, police said.

Oklahoma City Police responded to the shooting at an apartment complex at 5901 S. May Ave., according to KFOR. The suspect shot a male victim inside the unit once the door was opened, police said. The victim died at the scene.

A 16-year-old male was booked into the Oklahoma County Juvenile Detention Center in connection to the incident. Police have not identified the suspect or the victim, and no charges had been announced as of Sunday, Sept. 20.

The Oklahoma City Police Department said it is not releasing further details. News 9 also confirmed a suspect is in custody and one man is dead.

Police have not said what led to the shooting or whether the suspect and victim knew each other. The investigation remains active.
