Two people face human trafficking charges after separate investigations in the Oklahoma City metro, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) announced Sept 22

Lorrie Lynn Kennedy, 48, was arrested after a multi-county grand jury indicted her on charges of trafficking two minors for commercial sex, child exploitation and child neglect, according to KOKH. OBN said the alleged trafficking occurred between January 2019 and December 2022. One charge accuses Kennedy of trafficking a child between the ages of 10 and 12. A second accuses her of trafficking a child between the ages of 4 and 9.

The Purcell Police Department contacted OBN's Human Trafficking Unit in April to assist in the case, according to a KOKH report citing OBN.

In the second case, Brenton Dewayne Parker, 28, was arrested on complaints of pandering and aiding and abetting prohibited acts. OBN said Parker allegedly aided and facilitated the commercial sex of a victim recovered during an operation in the Oklahoma City metro in fall 2025, according to a separate KOKH report.

They were arrested Thursday, Sept. 17.

OBN spokesman Mark Woodward told KOKH that both investigations involved suspects who arranged commercial sex online. "In this day and age of technology, it's not obvious out on the street corners like you would see 20 or 30 years ago," Woodward said. "It's on a smartphone with a couple of clicks—arranging a date, a location, a time and a price."

OBN Director Donnie Anderson said the Kennedy investigation required extensive data review and forensic interviews with the minors involved. Anderson called the Parker case a success for the Human Trafficking Unit and urged other victims to come forward.

Melissa Eick of Dragonfly Human Trafficking Services, which served 338 trafficking victims with intensive needs in Oklahoma last year, warned parents that predators can reach children through screens even when a parent is sitting nearby. Eick said traffickers often exploit a child's need for affection or belonging to build trust and manipulate them.

No court dates for either case have been announced. Both cases remain pending.
